About our services and what we require from you.

UK & EU licence holders aged between 25 & 27 must have held a driver's licence for a minimum of 1 year.
All drivers licence holders aged between 21 & 24 must have held a driver's licence for a minimum of 2 years.
The minimum driver age for a 17 seat minibus is 30 and must have category D1 on thelicence.
Non EU licence holders must have held a driver's licence for a minimum of 2 years.
You must not have had more than 3 accidents or more than 2 thefts within the last 3 years.
All drivers must produce 2 utility bills or bank statements in their name dated within the last 3 months. Please note we do not accept mobile phone bills.
We will not be able to hire to you if you have any of the following conviction codes:- UT50, CD40, CD50, CD60, CD70, CD71, DD40, DD60, DD80, DR10, DR20, DR30, DR31, DR40, DR50, DR60, DR61, DR70, DR80 or DR90.

All customers with a UK drivers licence must generate a DVLA share code prior to your vehicle collection. You can get this code by clicking the DVLA Licence Check link at the top of this page, you will need your driving licence number, national insurance number and postcode of where the licence is registered. Please note this code is only valid for use for 21 days from code generation. Alternatively we are happy to generate this code for you when you arrive. Please note you will still need to produce your driver’s licence & proofs of address at point of pickup.

You will need to produce your Driver’s Licence, Passport & Return Ticket or "E" Ticket showing your return flight details and proof of residence such as hotel booking. A £1,000 deposit also applies for non UK licence.

You will need to produce your Driver’s Licence, Passport & 2 Utility Bills dated within the last 3 months. A £1,000 deposit also applies for non UK licence.

All hires 14 days and under include unlimited mileage.
Any hire over 14 days will have an allowance of 2000 miles per 28 days and a 15 pence plus VAT per mile charge thereafter.

We can only insure drivers between the ages of 21 & 75.
If you are aged between 21-24 you will incur a young drivers surcharge. This will be applied at the booking stage.

Apex Car Rental does not accept Cash, Visa Electron, American Express, Maestro or Solo cards.
The debit or credit card must be in the drivers name.

When booking a 9 seat or 17 seat minibus a £250 deposit is payable, this deposit is non refundable if you cancel within 48 hours prior to booking date.
You will also be asked for a damage pre-authorisation or deposit on either a credit or debit card upon collection of the vehicle. This amount varies between £250 and £750, dependent on the vehicle type and excess.
This deposit is refundable on return of the vehicle subject to there being no damage.

Drivers aged between 25 & 75. The standard excess on cars and vans is £750 but you will be able to reduce this down to £250 by purchasing the Collision Damage Waiver insurance
Drivers aged between 21 & 24 will incur a young driver’s daily surcharge.
The excess on cars and vans to drivers aged between 21 & 24 is £750, this cannot be reduced.
LWB Vans, the excess is £750 and these are not eligible for excess reduction.

Any vehicle taken outside the UK mainland without prior consent & the relevant documentation, will result in the full excess charge of £1200.00.
No vehicle is authorised to travel outside of the listed countries.
17 Seat mini buses cannot be taken abroad under any circumstances.
If you take a vehicle outside of the UK during any quarantine or travel restrictions and you have to remain either in Europe or enforced quarantine on return to UK, you will be charged for any additional days that may go over your initial hire period

You will be liable for the following charges in the event of cancellation of booking.

More than 48 hours before booking: No charge.
24 hours - 48 hours booking: 50% of hire charge.
Less than 24 hours before booking: 100% of hire charge.
If you make a reservation within 24 hours of your pick-up time you will be liable for 100% of the hire charge.

Apex Car Rental has an administration charge of £35 plus vat for any traffic offence, parking fine or penalty charge notice we receive. This amount is additional to the actual PCN amount that you will have to pay to the issuing authority.
